  3. About InstantLogo Font 1.2
  4. ===============================================================================
  5.      This special font allows you to create logos by simply pressing a 
  6. combination of keys on your keyboard. No drawing required! Works with most 
  7. page layout and drawing programs. Here's how it works:
  8.  
  9. 1. Create a new text block in your page layout or drawing program.
  10.  
  11. 2. Select the "InstantLogo" font from your font menu.
  12.  
  13. 3.    Select an appropriate type size for your logo, such as 72 points, in order
  14. for you to view and edit it easily. You may change the size of your logo after
  15. you are satisfied with your design.
  16.  
  17. 4. Type an uppercase character or numeral (such as the "R" or "5" character)
  18. into your text block. This creates a "panel" that makes up the basic shape of
  19. your logo. There are 36 panels to choose from such as squares, stars, and
  20. lightning bolts.
  21.  
  22. 5. Create a SECOND text block and position it on top of the first one. This is
  23. where you will type in a second character that acts as a white "mask" over your
  24. previously typed in panel. Now you can type a lowercase character such as the
  25. "g" or "s" to complete your logo. The masking patterns are located in the
  26. lowercase characters (26 in all). Make sure to change the color of your second
  27. character to WHITE (unless, for one reason or another, you do not want your
  28. pattern character to mask over your panel character).

  30. 5. Finally, save your work as a PICT or EPS file to make it accessible to your
  31. other programs.

  33.     THAT'S IT. You could use the "style" menu in your program to explore other
  34. options. Or use the panels or masking patterns by themselves. There are
  35. literally THOUSANDS of possibilities. To fully take advantage of this font, use
  36. it in either Illustrator, Canvas, or Freehand. These programs have an option to
  37. convert characters to paths. This allows you to type out your logo, convert it
  38. to paths, and fine-tune it even further.
